Tips for a Great Experience
Wear Boots! The walking surface inside of the Ice Castles is made of crushed ice. Walking in boots is definitely best.
Buy Tickets Before You Arrive! When you buy a ticket, you buy an arrival time. We ask that you arrive within your 30 minute time window. Once you are inside the castle you can stay as long as you’d like!
Save some trees! When you buy your tickets online we’ll send you an email with a unique QR code, so there’s no need to print your tickets. We can scan the code right from your phone!
Photos are encouraged (and we want to see them! #icecastles) but we ask that you please leave photography equipment such as tripods and lights at home. For information about commercial or specialized photo sessions please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sleds are better. We highly recommend bringing a small sled to pull children instead of a stroller. It is extremely difficult to push the stroller through the castle (think of it like trying to push a stroller through a sandy beach).

The Homestead Crater
One of the unique activities at our Midway Utah Resort is our one-of-a-kind Homestead Crater. The Crater is a geothermal spring, hidden within a 55foot tall, beehive-shaped limestone rock located on the Homestead property. Over 10,000 years in the making, The Crater formed when melting snow on the Wasatch Mountains seeped deep within the earth. Two miles below the surface, the earth’s interior heated the water. As it percolated upward, it picked up minerals, which were then deposited on the surface — eventually forming the volcano-shaped limestone deposit called The Homestead Crater.
We’ve created a tunnel through the rock wall at ground level, lending access to our custom-built decks and a soaking area where guests can enjoy the crystal-clear mineral water. Once inside, you can go swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, enjoy a therapeutic soak or even take a paddle board yoga class.
The Crater is the only warm scuba diving destination in the continental US. Click here for more info and to reserve your spot!
